Webster Technique Certified

When pregnant, everything changes from the way a woman walks to the way she sleeps. Chiropractic care will help with postural discomfort and adjust the body for optimal health and wellness by realigning the spine and restoring pelvic balance. Through these methods, chiropractic care can naturally and safely relieve many of the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. Any chiropractor with a Webster Certification has advanced training in restoring pelvic balance during pregnancy and to ensure the baby is in the optimal position for delivery.

When the pelvis is misaligned, it can limit the space the baby has in the womb. This can cause distress to the baby which can lead to unfavorable positioning of baby and discomfort in the mother. This also makes it harder for the baby to move into the desired position for delivery, affecting the mother’s ability to have a natural birth. However, with chiropractic care, the pelvic balance can be restored, and this can often be easily solved. Seeing a chiropractor regularly while pregnant reduces discomfort for both the mother and the baby. Pregnant women undergo incredible physical and endocrinological change that puts their bodies under great stress. These stressors can easily be improved by ICPA certified Doctors of Chiropractic and make pregnancy a more enjoyable experience for the mother.

WEBSTER TECHNIQUE

Chiropractic care in pregnancy is vital to the normal physiological function of both the mother and baby throughout pregnancy and birth. The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of subluxation and/or SI joint dysfunction. In so doing, neurobiomechanical function in the sacral/pelvic region is improved. Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e. dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia (difficult birth). Dr. Shirley has been certified in special training through the ICPA to perform the Webster Technique.
